CIS or Western Aircraft?

The ruggedness of the Russian aircraft is, in some cases, more suited to the extremes of climate and the roughness of many of the CIS airfields. The complications of introducing western aircraft, training national crews, providing quality maintenance and supplying aircraft spares are further reasons why the use of CIS aircraft may sometimes be the more practical and economic solution, especially during periods of business uncertainty within the CIS.

However, with the escalation of fuel prices, the more fuel- efficient western aircraft are becoming increasingly competitive in the CIS. Furthermore, certain classes of aircraft, such as long-range business jets, are not readily available in the CIS and so western aircraft may be favoured. CLINTONDALE has, recently operated both the Hawker 125/700 business jet and the Bell 212 helicopter in Kazakhstan.
